We’ve just moved into Tabley Park off Northwich Road, where fully furnished show homes are now open. To celebrate, we’re launching a community fund for the area.
With the addition of this latest fund, our North West division has voluntarily gifted more than £160,000 to the neighbourhoods in which it builds. This is over and above the statutory investment from us linked to planning consents, such as contributions to education, healthcare, public transport and affordable housing.
Simon Bennett, interim sales director at for the North West, said: “Community plays a huge part in choosing where to live and the sense of community locally is just one of the reasons Knutsford is deserving of its place in the ‘Best Places to Live’ guide compiled by The Sunday Times. We want to ensure that as the area grows it retains that important neighbourhood spirit and sense of camaraderie.
“We’re also acutely aware of the added pressures that community groups, neighbourhood projects and other good causes have faced because of the Covid pandemic, with many of their usual fundraising activities curtailed. Our community funds have made such an impact in other areas of Cheshire that even before homes at Tabley Park were released for sale we’d started receiving enquiries from local projects asking when and how they could apply for funding. We very much want to hear from good causes in the Knutsford area, especially those near to our Tabley Park development, to find out how we can help them make a difference locally.”
Previous funding across Cheshire has helped schools, charities, youth groups, sports teams and individuals at the very heart of the community, providing a range of resources including play equipment, defibrillators, furniture, food parcels, counselling and more.
Our Knutsford Fund is linked to the 190-home Tabley Park development, taking shape across 36 acres. As well as new homes the development will include a large area of open space, a football pitch, allotments, an orchard and a children’s play area.
To support the growth of the neighbourhood we’ve agreed to significant investment to improve local facilities, from GPs and schools to highways and even equipment for the local leisure centre.
