The dance troupe was started in 2022 by experienced dancer Charlotte. She wanted to give back to her community by providing a safe and inclusive troupe for all.
Starting with nine dancers in the first year and expanding to 68 dancers in 2023, aged between two and 36, Symphony’s popularity has quickly grown.
To keep costs as low as possible for her dancers, Charlotte applied to our community fund, linked to Daresbury Garden Village, for £1,000 that would be used towards buying uniforms. Once added to a pot of £5000 that had already been fundraised, Charlotte has been able to buy 68 uniforms and the other essential items.
Charlotte said: “Seeing the troupe in their new uniform is amazing and having end of season trophies to award them for their hard work and dedication throughout the year will be such a good feeling. Our season runs from March to October, and we have fortnightly competitions with the season championships taking place on October 11. I’m so proud of how far we’ve come as a club in such a short space of time, we've got a really strong dance family and all the parents are fantastic.”
Area sales manager for Redrow NW, Chris Edwards, said: “It’s really impressive to see how much the dance troupe has grown in just two years. Charlotte is incredibly dedicated to Symphony and we could see that in her application to the community fund. We’re so pleased she has been able to purchase what she needed to continue to help the team flourish.”
