New area construction manager for Redrow Homes, Phil Reeves, believes quality is key when it comes to building award-winning homes and will be instilling the message in teams working at sites across the North West of England and North Wales.
Phil, 41, who has lived in Frodsham for the last 15 years, has joined us in Daresbury, Cheshire, after 16 years with Taylor Wimpey, where he worked his way up from assistant site manager to senior site manager and then production manager.
“A big thing for me is the quality of homes that Redrow builds, it was what attracted me to the job in the first place. As area construction manager, I oversee a number of sites making sure the individual site managers are building to a high standard and delivering the best homes possible for our customers,” says father-of-two Phil.
Phil has previously won a total of five NHBC Pride in the Job Quality awards plus one Seal of Excellence, in an industry scheme that commends site managers for their dedication, passion, commitment, and leadership to produce homes of exceptional quality.
He adds: “Quality has always been something that has been ingrained in me and now in my new role, my aim is to instill this in my teams working on sites across the division.”
Developments under Phil’s watchful eye include Millstone View in Penymynydd, Flintshire, where site manager Jonathan Jewell has just won his first Pride in the Job award with us, plus Cranberry Gardens in Congleton, Kings Moat Garden Village in Chester and the flagship Woodford Garden Village, in Woodford, near Stockport.
One of Phil’s first jobs has been helping construction teams adapt to new ways of working post-lockdown. He says: “Covid was certainly a challenge as we didn’t know what to expect. We did a lot of work behind the scenes to enable the sites to reopen safely with the relevant safety procedures in place. We changed the way we work so we could begin phased returns to our sites and kick-start where we left off.
“There were implications for ourselves, our sub-contractors, suppliers and, of course, our customers who had been unable to move into their new homes. But now we have gained an understanding how to operate within the new guidelines and work safely, we are moving on far quicker than first thought.”
Jason Newton, managing director of our North West division, said: “Phil is a real asset to the business. He comes with plenty of experience and knowledge meaning our sites are in excellent hands to enable us to continue to deliver quality, much-needed new homes.”
From our offices in Daresbury, near Warrington, our North West division has circa 15 live outlets across Cheshire and parts of Merseyside and North Wales, building everything from starter homes to large, executive detached homes.
