Buster, along with our health and safety manager Adam Brown, site manager Curtis Taylor and sales consultant Anna Mellor spoke to the pupils about the dangers of playing near a construction site.
The primary school, which opened its doors to its first pupils in September 2022, is part of our Woodford Garden Village development.
“It is so important for children to know the dangers of a building site, especially those who are living on a development where areas may still be under construction,” said Adam.
“Our talks are fun and interactive and designed with children in mind. We talk of potential hazards and also about what protective clothing the team need whilst working on site.
“We had great fun visiting Woodford Primary School and the children loved meeting Buster Bear. Thank you to the headteacher Katie Patrick for helping us to arrange this visit.”
Elise Drake, Head of School at Woodford Primary School added: “Pupils had a very informative morning with the team at Redrow, learning about the dangers on a construction site. They also enjoyed welcoming Buster into the school, thanks to all for attending.”
Woodford Garden Village is the first garden village of its kind to be built in the north of England for decades and one of the region’s largest brownfield sites.
The 205-hectare development will eventually combine 920 homes, a pub, school, shops and an extensive network of green spaces including children’s play areas, cycle pathways, parks, meadows and extensive tree planting.
