Redrow's Sylvia 'sales' through mystery shopper test

Sylvia, 64, gained a 100% score when a ‘mystery shopper’ visited the sales centre at Ledsham Garden Village, West Cheshire, where she was based.

The mum of two grown-up children was judged on her ability to successfully identify the customer’s requirements for a new home, as well as understanding their financial position and timeframe for moving. She also had to explain key features of the chosen new home, including energy efficiency; as well as guide the customer through the buying process and everything they could look forward to during their ‘journey’ with Redrow.

Sylvia, from Heswall, Wirral, says: “I was thrilled to get 100% because I had been striving towards it for ages. I had got lots of 90-plus scores and even one 99.37% so I am delighted to finally have 100%.”

Sylvia has worked at 13 different new homes developments for Redrow since seeking a career change from a long-held position as a business development manager. It was a passion for the housing market and home-buying that saw her begin her role as a sales consultant with Redrow a little over four years ago.

“And I love it,” she says. “I enjoy the challenge of meeting people, helping them and guiding them. I enjoy asking the questions to find out what it is they are looking for, and then seeing their delight when they finally move in.”
