That’s because our garden villages, with strong placemaking credentials and lots of well-planned green spaces, are as much about offering a fantastic quality of life as they are about providing homes for families.
The new community of 2,000 homes, off Ledsham Road, will include 100 acres of open space to be enjoyed. It will also eventually include a shop, community building and several large areas of open space. There will also be allotments, meadow parkland and an orchard.
Simon Bennett, interim sales director of the North West division, says: “After numerous Covid lockdowns and restrictions, we’ve all come to realise just how important it is to have easy access to open space and community amenities. It makes developments like Ledsham Garden Village even more appealing as places to live.”
Beyond the boundaries of the garden village, we’ve also invested £13 million to support the growth of the wider neighbourhood. Channelled via the local authority, this funding will support education, improve health facilities, and provide new and improved bus routes.
Simon continues: “A beautiful environment is being created at Ledsham, plus vital infrastructure to help make life easier, more manageable and, therefore, much more enjoyable too.”
And, while non-essential shopping and dining out is currently off the agenda, it won’t always be this way. The good news is that Ledsham Garden Village is well-connected and has great transport links to some superb shopping and entertainment*.
Cheshire Oaks is only a short drive away, with its designer outlet village providing a wealth of shopping opportunities, as well as leisure facilities like a multi-screen cinema and fun family venues like Blue Planet Aquarium; while Eastham Woods gives the chance of open-air activity on the doorstep.
Croft Retail and Leisure Park, in Bromborough, has more retail outlets, along with family favourite restaurants like Frankie and Benny’s and Pizza Hut, and there are plenty of other restaurants and pubs close by.
There’s a great choice of homes across the new community for everyone from first time buyers to families and those looking for somewhere more manageable in later life. Currently homes are being built across three developments: Hawthorn Court, Oaklands and Sycamore Green with everything from three-bedroom semi-detached properties to substantial family homes. Current prices range from £248,995 to £459,995.
No fewer than eight fully furnished show homes are open for viewing at Ledsham Garden Village, with visitors asked to make an appointment before visiting.
