The Worshipful the Mayor of Dartford announced her commitment to these charities following the AGM in May of this year, noting that they are all based in Dartford and will have a direct impact on residents in the area.
Home Start provides support for vulnerable isolated families with preschool children, while Healthy Living Centre Dartford delivers and facilitates an extensive range of services and activities for Dartford residents. Dartford Lions is a group of volunteers who raise money for local charities and international disaster funds and The Lantern Community Centre Appeal is a new community centre in need of funds to complete the build.
On the donation, Ben Fewsdale, Managing Director at Redrow South East commented, “We are so pleased to have built a relationship with The Worshipful the Mayor of Dartford, after she attended the launch of our Stonehaven Park community.
“Redrow is proud to support local communities, and Cllr Currans has chosen four very worthy charities for Dartford.We are grateful that the donation will support local residents of all ages and backgrounds.”
Redrow South East’s Stonehaven Park, Dartford offers a selection of 3- and 4-bed homes and has recently launched a new show home and Customer Experience Suite. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was hosted by The Worshipful the Mayor of Dartford, Cllr Rosanna Currans, who showed her support for the community being built.
Of her visit, The Worshipful, the Mayor commented, “Having lived happily in Dartford for around 35 years, I feel strongly about giving our community the opportunity to be proud of where they live. It is through new development that we can continue to give our community more of what makes it a great place to live – supporting local businesses; creating jobs for local people and giving us open space to enjoy time with family and friends.
“It was a pleasure to join Ben and the wider Redrow team today to look forward to the future, and the contribution the new homes at Stonehaven Park bring to both Dartford and the wider Kent community.”
