Homebuyers Beth and Goodreach Gweshe have saved through the Land Transaction Tax (LTT) holiday after recently completing on their new home at Redrow’s Great Milton Park development in Newport.
Located to the east of Newport and surrounded by superb South Wales countryside, Great Milton Park is an exciting new development for the area. Ideal for commuters, the site is well connected to the M4 motorway and will eventually include its own primary school and village centre with shops, allotments, and sports pitches with changing facilities, plus acres of open spaces.
Recently completing their purchase on the three-bedroom The Warwick, Beth Gweshe said; “Both myself and my partner work in Bristol, where house prices are very high. Great Milton Park is a great place to live for commuters to the city like us as it is not too far away, and the house prices are much more reasonable. It also helped us to choose the Warwick as it was part of the Help to Buy scheme.
“We were going to move in on the 24th July which meant we were within the window of exemption from Land Transaction Tax. We then changed the date we wanted to move in to the 27th, which would mean we would need to pay the Tax. Having conversations with our solicitor and Redrow, they allowed us to change the date and keep the benefits, so we would not have to pay Land Transaction Tax, which was incredibly nice of them to honour.”
With prices at The Hollies starting at £298,995, and at The Cedars from £367,995, both developments have a range of homes to suit prospective homebuyers.
Available properties at The Hollies include the three-bedroom Warwick and the four-bedroom Stratford house types. The Cedars also has a range of larger homes well suited to family life including the four-bedroom Shaftesbury, Sunningdale and Cambridge properties.
Beth and Goodreach added; ‘Our experience has been brilliant from start to finish. Our contact with the sales team was great and all the staff were very willing to help, always there over email or on the phone. The construction team were also helpful, in particular Nick the site manager. Even since we have moved in, he has been by to check on us which is really reassuring as a new homeowner. We are very happy to have chosen Redrow.’
