Chester sales consultant sets his sights on Ironman Estonia

A Chester man will travel to Estonia next month to compete in a 3.8km swim, 180km bike ride and 42.2km run.

Greg Campbell, 27, a senior sales consultant at Redrow NW, who are sponsoring his endeavour, will take part in Ironman on August 6 to raise money for Claire House Children’s Hospice.

“This is my first Iron Man event. After stopping playing competitive football I needed a new challenge,” said Greg, who lives in Chester.

“Training is tiring and takes up a lot of my free time. I am trying to hit around 14 hours per week; cycling around eight hours a week, running around four hours and swimming for two hours.

“Unfortunately, I ruptured my ear drum on holiday, which has meant I am unable to train in the pool or lake until a couple of weeks before the event.”

Greg has worked for us for the past four years, joining the housebuilder’s graduate programme straight from university. He is now a senior sales consultant based at our Kings Moat Garden Village development, in Chester.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to Redrow for their support and for paying my race entry,” said Greg.

“Triathlons can be a very expensive sport and, in total, with equipment, training, entry fees, flights, accommodation, I will have spent well into the thousands, so I cannot thank Redrow enough for helping me with my race entry fee.

“It is a great company, and an honour to work for and represent them.”
