After living in nearby Pickmere for six years, the couple, both 32, wanted to move to a larger community and found exactly what they needed in the Cheshire village of Hartford.
“Hartford has a lot on offer. It’s got a Co-op convenience store, a local church, a butcher, a number of independent restaurants and cafes, and they’re all on our doorstep,” says commercial video director Duncan. “Aside from that, and thinking about the future, Hartford also has numerous schools for all age groups so we definitely won’t be short of choice when the time comes.”
The couple, who chose a four-bedroom Richmond at Hartford Grange - one of our three developments in the sought-after village - say they weren’t originally going to buy a new build home. They looked at older properties for a while until Duncan’s mum moved into one of our homes at Woodford Garden Village in Woodford.
“We wanted a home with plenty of character which is why we had looked at older properties originally, but after seeing my mum’s home and getting familiar with Redrow it opened our minds to the possibility of buying new.
“The Richmond offers the period-style features of an older home but includes a more open-plan, modern layout and conveniences such as two en-suite bathrooms and a walk-in wardrobe that you would have to spend thousands on to add into an older property,” adds Duncan.
Graphic designer Cassie and Duncan also say the build quality and living space inside the home ticked all their boxes, meaning that it was ready for them to move in to and add their personal touches.
Duncan adds: “Redrow homes are really thoughtfully laid out and so is Hartford Grange. The development isn’t too big and is set out really nicely. We love the amount of green space that surrounds the new homes and the old trees that have been left around the development.”
While there are only two homes remaining at Hartford Grange. - a Richmond from £599,995 and a five-bedroom Highgrove at £840,995 – there is plenty of choice at our other two Hartford developments.

Interim sales director for the North West, Simon Bennett says: “Pretty much everyone who wants to can be part of the Hartford community in a brand new Redrow home, with everything from a three-bedroom semi to a large five-bedroom detached. And whatever home people choose they have the same access to the local shops, schools and services, the wider amenities of nearby Northwich, and convenient train travel to Chester, Manchester, Liverpool and Crewe from two different stations.”
Weaver Park currently has three and four-bedroom homes from £287,995 for a three-bed semi-detached Letchworth; while Water’s Reach also has three and four-bedroom homes, including a three-bedroom Leamington Lifestyle from £415,995. This particular home is built on the blueprint of a four-bedroom home meaning there are fewer but larger bedrooms, each with its own bath or shower room.
