In celebration of our most recent milestone at Woodford Garden Village, in Cheshire, local good causes have a renewed chance to share £10,000 via the homebuilder’s latest community fund.
It comes as Redrow prepares to welcome its 300th resident – and open a brand new show village at the end of October.
Having previously gifted £15,000 between groups and projects in the surrounding area, we are now launching a third community fund.
It coincides with two new phases, The Courtyard luxury apartments and Anson Meadows family homes, plus the seven new fully furnished show homes.
Anna Evans-Kerr, head of sales at our North West division says: “We thought it was the perfect time to invite more good causes to apply for a share of community funding and benefit from the ongoing success of Woodford Garden Village.
“We also understand that charities and community groups have been particularly impacted by the effects of Covid and social distancing. They’ve had to adapt to new ways of connecting with the people they help and support. If our funding can help them to operate in a new way, then it will be put to very good use.”
The range of projects previously support by us has been very diverse, including replacing the scout hut roof of the 1st Woodford Scouts and carrying out improvements at the Woodford War Memorial Community Centre. Hursthead Junior School ran a valuable Forest School programme for 90 year five pupils and Moss Hey Primary School bought new sports kits.
We are now keen to hear people’s suggestions of how the new fund may be able to help other groups.
“Our community funds are designed to support small projects at the heart of local life, preferably by making a number of small grants that can potentially make a big difference,” Anna added.
In total, we have gifted more than £140,000 to community projects across the North West since 2016, in addition to the statutory contributions it makes to education, healthcare, affordable housing, highways, open space, etc in areas where it builds.
Woodford Garden Village is very much a community within a community, eventually creating circa 950 new homes with a central village green, numerous areas of open space and play areas. It will also have its own shops, a pub and primary school. The latest phases, The Courtyard and Anson Meadows, currently offer luxury two-bedroom apartments from £364,995 and three and four-bedroom homes from £380,995 to £530,000.
