With work to an outdoor terrace recently finished, the community centre has used a donation from us to complete the area with a new awning.
Judith Craig, chair of the community centre said: “The new terrace area is a fantastic enhancement to the community centre’s facilities. This particular area is in the sun for most of the day so on hot days, we now have the awning to provide comfortable shade. And because the English weather is unpredictable, it will also protect visitors from light rain.”
We have previously helped the community centre when we offered labour and materials to improve facilities. The centre was reconfigured to make better use of the space available and improve disabled toilet facilities.
Emily Carey, area sales manager for our North West division said: “The community centre is a much-loved asset of the Woodford community. It’s used as the venue for numerous community groups such as Baby Ballet and a dog training club as well as hosting birthday parties and celebrations so it’s great to know we’ve helped towards enhancing the centre even further for the community.”
Woodford Garden Village will combine 920 homes, a pub, school, shops and an extensive network of green spaces including children’s play areas, cycle pathways, parks, meadows and extensive tree planting.
