We have again provided valuable financial back-up for Crewe and Nantwich RUFC.
For the fifth consecutive year, we’re the main sponsor of the rugby club, providing £4,000 for the 21/22 season.
The funding will support a number of projects run from the club’s ground ‘The Vagrants’, on Newcastle Road, Nantwich. Previous monies have enabled several improvements to be made, including land development, access footpaths and maintenance of the ground.
Vice president and sponsorship secretary Jon Cockburn said: “Huge thanks again to Redrow for its continuing support, this money really does help.
“This funding has enabled us to set up a rugby academy to focus on our youth players, helping them make the transition from the junior team to senior level playing, which will also strengthen the men’s section for the future.”
The club, which will be celebrating its centenary year in 2022, is currently halfway through the 21/22 season, with the club’s first team sitting fifth in the Midlands 2 West (North) league.
“We have started up a junior girls’ team and our ladies’ team has gone from strength to strength, winning numerous awards,” added Jon.
“Former players are also always keen to support the club, including well-known names like Sale Sharks players Cal Ford and brothers Ben and Tom Curry. Ben and Tom also play for England, and Tom played for the British and Irish Lions last year. We’re very proud that they started their careers here.”

We have supported a number of local sports clubs, schools and other groups in Nantwich both through sponsorship like this and our development-based community funds.
