Redrow is helping to support families with young children throughout the coronavirus pandemic.
Redrow South Midlands, currently building at King’s Meadow, on King’s Avenue, has presented Home-Start Cambridgeshire with a donation of £920.
The funds will be used to aid the voluntary organisation, which promotes the welfare of families with young children, to continue offering invaluable support to local people. The funding will enable the charity to increase its capacity to help meet the demand caused by the current pandemic, as well as provide household items such as stairgates, cupboard locks and bolts for external doors to help keep children safe while they are at home.
Offering both emotional and practical help, Home-Start Cambridgeshire has adapted its services to enable its volunteers to continue to support families in the area remotely.
Marney Connor, Senior Co-ordinator at Home-Start Cambridgeshire, said: “The donation will make such a difference to the lives of local families, and we’d like to say a big thank you to Redrow Homes South Midlands for its support.
“The practical and emotional demands of parenthood are challenging enough in normal times, but the current pandemic adds so many additional layers of anxiety, uncertainty and isolation.
“We remain as committed as ever to supporting parents in the critical early years of childhood and the funding will allow us to continue to support the local community over the next few months.”
Suzanne Irons, sales director for our South Midlands division, said: “We are delighted to be supporting Home-Start Cambridgeshire’s initiative, which provides a vital service to those living in the area.
“Supporting local organisations is part of our commitment to creating thriving communities. The pandemic is impacting people in many ways, and we are proud to be able to play our part in supporting local people though these challenging times.”
Offering stunning views of the Fens, King’s Meadow features three to five-bedroom homes situated in a charming, rural location on the north east edge of Ely. Perfect for a growing family, the development enjoys an array of amenities in the nearby town centre, including an 800-year-old market in the centre of Ely and the Cloisters Shopping Centre.
Upon reopening last month, King’s Meadow made a number of modifications to allow prospective house buyers to visit safely, including offering exclusive, unaccompanied slots for viewings, ensuring sales consultants are always two metres away from the customer, and installing protective screens and hand sanitiser throughout the sales centre.
