Our Southern Counties division will be hosting a Help to Buy Weekend at many of its developments across the 12th and 13th September, showcasing the homes available under the current Help to Buy scheme. Sales consultants and independent financial advisers will be on hand across the two days to provide help and advice at the following developments:
Kingsley Park, Arborfield Green (Berkshire)
Blackmore Down, Shaftesbury (Dorset)
Elm Green, Waterlooville (Hampshire)
Marleberg Grange, Marlborough (Wiltshire)
Homes available with Help to Buy across the Southern Counties communities range from apartments at Kingsley Park at Arborfield Green, ideal for first-time buyers, and larger three- and four-bedroom properties across Berkshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Wiltshire, ideal for families of different sizes and at different stages of growth. The majority of the homes are for sale for under £500,000, meaning homemovers pay no stamp duty following the Government’s stamp duty holiday announcement in July 2020 – and those purchasing for more than £500,000 are set to save a significant £15,000 on stamp duty.
Interested potential customers are advised to sign up for an appointment at their preferred development(s) in advance via our website. We have rigorous social distancing and hygiene measures in place at all of its sales centres and show homes to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19, fully aligned with Government guidance. You can view their protocols and what to expect on our website here. For those who prefer to find out more from home, virtual appointments are also available.
The Help to Buy Equity Loan enables new build buyers to purchase their home with as little as a 5% deposit. The Government will lend you up to 20% of the value of the property through an equity loan, which is interest free for the first five-years. The current iteration of the Help to Buy scheme runs until 31st March 2021.
Mark Vanson, our sales director for Southern Counties, said: “Our Help to Buy Weekend is an ideal opportunity to find out more about how this Government backed scheme could help you to purchase your dream new home, and to view in person what we have to offer, whether you’re a first-time buyer, a ‘next-stepper’ or somebody looking to ‘rightsize’. We have seen a jump in buyer activity since the housing market reopened, with a quarter of future homemovers across the UK reassessing what they want to get out of their next home due to the COVID-19 lockdown*.
“Now is a great time to move to a new home, with Help to Buy available, and the stamp duty holiday announced in July means many homemovers will pay no stamp duty at all, or will at least make a significant saving, which can bolster a deposit or contribute to tailoring that new property to a buyer’s specific tastes. Our homes prioritise open plan living and access to green open spaces, meaning our customers have the space to relax, entertain or work – and generally use their home in a way that suits their lifestyle.”
