Tamworth site manager wins prestigious award

16th November 2023
Redrow News - Ian Larkins Seal Winner

A project manager is celebrating after winning a Seal of Excellence Award from the National Home Building Council for his work at a development in Tamworth.

Site Manager, Ian Larkins, received the Seal of Excellence in the Pride in the Job Awards, in on-site management for his work at the Redrow Midlands development, Amington Garden Village, in Tamworth.

Running for 40 years, the NHBC’s Pride in the Job scheme is dedicated to recognising the industry’s very best performers and is a prestigious accolade that site managers aspire to achieve.

To receive an award, site managers must score highly in all areas of build and site management including quality of workmanship, technical expertise, health and safety and leadership. Judges look for meticulous attention to detail and the special qualities and attributes that set quality, award-winning site managers apart from the rest.

Ian has worked for Redrow for eleven years and has been based at Amington Garden Village since its launch in 2015. This is his fourth NHBC award after he received his first in 2020, and his second consecutive Seal of Excellence acknowledgment.

Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Redrow Midlands, said: “We are thrilled that Ian has received the Seal of Excellence Award for his work at Amington Garden Village. This is a brilliant testament to his dedication and passion for building high-quality homes and creating thriving communities.

“A Seal of Excellence Award is something that many site managers strive for, so receiving his fourth is truly an outstanding achievement and very well-deserved – congratulations Ian!”

Commenting on his award win, Ian said: “I am incredibly proud to have received a Seal of Excellence award. It is an incredible accomplishment, and I could not have done this without my colleagues that share the same passion, dedication and commitment to upholding such a high standard of work. I'd like to thank them for all for their hard work – I wouldn’t be able to do my job without their ongoing support.

“When we hand over a finished property, it’s wonderful to see the new owners take the final steps to transform our building efforts from a house to home. It is such a special moment, and I am incredibly proud to play my part in such a key milestone of peoples’ lives.”

Amington Fairway, Amington Green and now Eagle Gate at Amington are part of the popular Amington Garden Village development, which offers a choice of two, three, four and five-bedroom properties. These sought-after homes are part of Redrow’s award-winning Heritage Collection and located just three miles from Tamworth’s town centre. The development provides a rural setting with excellent commuter links, including easy reach of the A5, M42 and M6 Toll.
