Our South East division has just acquired a site in Faversham, with proposals to deliver up to 320 new homes and a GDV of £120 million. The 31-acre site, called Land at Preston Fields, is located south of Canterbury Road in Faversham, Kent.
An outline planning application has been submitted and is being considered by Swale Borough Council.
The proposals for the site currently include 208 homes for private sale, with the remaining 35% available at affordable tenure. The majority of properties are houses ranging in size from two-to four-bedrooms, alongside a set of one- and two-bedroom apartments.
It represents our third recent acquisition in Swale, following Regent Quay and Amber Fields, our two sites in Sittingbourne which are currently operational.
The site is located south of Faversham town centre and less than a 10 min walk to the train station, with direct trains via HS1 to London St Pancras International taking just over an hour. The trendy sea-side towns of Whitstable and Herne Bay are approximately 20-minutes by car, as is Canterbury.
Glen Wells, Land Director for South East, commented: “This acquisition in Faversham represents an exciting milestone for the division as we look to build our presence in North Kent, building on the five sites acquired in 2021. The charming market town has so much to offer, including great connectivity to the Capital and the Kent coast, along with its historic town centre buzzing with a range of shops, pubs and eateries.”
