Dan and Gemma Coe – along with their twin daughters and beloved dachshund, Olive – moved into Redrow South West’s family-friendly, four-bedroom The Sunningdale home at Woodborough Grange.
Having moved home nine times over the course of two decades, Dan and his family made the exciting decision to find a property that they could call their forever home. Intent on swapping the bustling city for a quiet life in the countryside, the family explored the charming village of Winscombe, Somerset – renowned for its excellent schools and travel links.
With a busy lifestyle, it was important that the Coe family’s new home accommodated the needs of adults and children alike, providing space to socialise as well as privacy to allow remote working.
The couple had lived in older properties previously, so were unfamiliar with the idea of moving into a new build. However, after seeing the Redrow difference first hand, they were sold on the spacious and practical living spaces where they could spend their next chapter. Plus, the option to move into a new home that was already equipped with the latest appliances and flooring, made the move stress-free.
When asked why they chose to buy a new build house, Dan said: “We have previously lived in an older property which we had to ‘do up’. This was quite costly and if there were any defects, we had to pay for it out of our own pockets as we weren’t protected by a warranty. It was also hugely beneficial to move into a home which was fully equipped with the latest appliances – not to mention the benefits that new builds have when it comes to energy efficiency. From the moment we moved in, we were able to enjoy our home rather than worry about fixing it, and this brought a sense of relief.
“As soon as we visited the show homes at Woodborough Grange we were blown away by the contemporary designs and how spacious all the rooms were – we could see ourselves living there straight away.”
The couple were attracted to the Sunningdale, a beautiful example of our award-winning Heritage Collection. The home features an expansive open-plan kitchen and dining room that leads to a separate utility and cloakroom, which is great for keeping the living space clutter-free. There is also a large separate living room perfect for unwinding together as a family. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, two of which boast an en-suite.
In addition to the home, the development drew in the family. Dan added: “There are excellent connections to and from Bristol which is convenient for the whole family as we can easily visit friends and family. There is also a great selection of local amenities right on our doorstep. The development has a family-friendly atmosphere and there are several children’s play areas. However, what we love the most is the strong sense of community that has been established here. We have made such strong relationships with our neighbours – we have more than a home here.”
In December the family will have lived at Woodborough Grange for two years and are just as in love with their home as they were when they first moved in.
Sian Smith, Sales Director at Redrow South West, said: “We are so pleased that the Coe family were able to find everything they were looking for in a home at our Woodborough Grange development.
“As workplaces adapt to suit flexible working, we understand that our homes need to suit the lifestyles of different families. We pride ourselves on the flexibility of our homes, which are designed for modern living – as well as having excellent travel connections.
“We’d like to invite anyone who likes the idea of spacious luxury living to visit our show homes at Woodborough Grange and see for themselves why the Coe family fell in love with our homes!”
