The 24 acre site has been named Vale Croft Woods and the initial phase will contain 20 homes for private sale ranging in size from three- to five-bedrooms. Further private homes, alongside 53 affordable homes, will be delivered in the future. Once complete, the entire site will comprise of 176 homes, alongside the retention of four locally listed buildings after outline planning consent was secured from the council in May 2020.
Large pockets of the development will be dedicated to green open space, including a woodland area adjacent to the homes. In line with S106 agreements, we will also be contributing to local services including improvements to local transport services. All new residents will be provided with a £50 travel voucher to be put towards a bicycle, cycling equipment, or one month’s free bus travel on local stagecoach buses.
Construction on this first housing phase is due to start in March 2023, and the community is expected to launch to market in April 2023.
Mark Vanson, Sales Director at Redrow Southern Counties, commented: “This planning permission is an exciting step forward in our expansion across Hampshire and we are looking forward to delivering our first phase of homes in Farnborough with construction work starting imminently on site.
“With plenty of green space surrounding the site, lots of local amenities and great schools nearby, as well as the location enabling easy access into London, we anticipate the homes at Vale Croft Woods will be incredibly popular among prospective buyers and particularly families.”
Set in the vibrant town of Farnborough, Vale Croft Woods is favourably located for those looking to commute into nearby towns and cities, such as Basingstoke or Guildford. London is also only a short 40-minute journey by train, with the train station being 9 minutes away by car from the community.
In addition, the site is surrounded by multiple green open spaces, including Queens Parade Park and several highly rated schools. Tower Hill Primary School, which is rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted, is less than a 10-minute drive.
