We’ve appointed Traci Moore as our new land and planning director in Yorkshire.
Hailing from York, Traci has worked for several house builders, most recently spending nine years with Harron Homes, where she progressed from land manager to senior land manager and latterly held the role of land director designate.
She said: “Redrow is a forward-thinking home builder with an exceptional product, which places us in an excellent position to maximise new land in desirable areas.
“My aim is to help to grow the Yorkshire business and we are currently focused on delivering the next five years’ land supply, while already working towards obtaining planning permission on several large sites that we have under contract.”
Traci also said our approach to championing women in a traditionally male-dominated sector was behind her decision to join the company. She added: “A key factor in joining Redrow is the company’s modern attitude to working women. Having had my second child I feel that it is important to be in a working environment that acknowledges and supports women who want to continue to develop and strive to reach the top of their chosen profession.”
Heading up a team of six in the divisional land department, Traci works with a variety of third parties from land agents to landowners when acquiring new sites. She added: “I like the variety of people you meet working in the sector. My favourite part of the job is being able to confirm to landowners that we have obtained planning permission and can legally complete on their site.”
It’s a role not without its challenges and one of the main issues for Traci and her team is working alongside local authorities that are increasingly under-resourced and under great pressure to meet multiple planning policy requirements. She added: “It’s part of my role to ensure the planning process runs smoothly and we deliver a scheme that meets those demands, while delivering for our homebuyers and the wider community.”
Outside work Traci plays squash in the York and District league, in both men’s and ladies’ teams, and she puts her progress in life and work down to her motto to “do something every day that challenges you”.
